Waelz Sustainable Products, LLC (WSP) is a zinc recycling company owned by Zinc Nacional in Monterrey Mexico. Zinc Nacional is a subsidiary of Grupo Promax and has a long history of operating a safe, efficient, and sustainable business. They have nearly seven decades of expertise in producing zinc oxide from mine ore and steel mill by-products.
WSP is located in Logansport Indiana and has America’s largest Waelz Kiln measuring 200ft long with a 15ft diameter. The kiln can process approximately 130,000 short tons of dust annually.
WSP has a mission to be a company dedicated to society by delivering green solutions for the recovery of value from waste materials through the continual development of innovative and sustainable processes.
WSP’s vision is to make recycling real, ensuring zinc is returned to the material cycle without any loss of quality, contributing significantly to future generations.

Recycling
Waelz Sustainable Products takes a by-product from steel mills called EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) dust and processes it through a Walez Kiln, creating a chemical reaction to separate the zinc from other materials. The zinc oxide is then sent to Zinc National to be further refined. Once the process is complete the finished product will be used in consumer products.
Transportation
Waelz Sustainable Products can help arrange and manage transportation of waste products from steel mills to the recycling facility. WSP will also help manage compliance for the transport of hazardous materials.

Waelz Iron Product (WIP) is an iron-rich by-product of the Waelz process. WIP is utilized in various applications, including cement hardening and road construction in some states.
Our maintenance & production shift schedules are 7 days on followed by 7 days off.
